Durga Puja Theme: The Durga Puja organising committee at Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha is one of the Pujas who started the concept of theme based Puja and theme based pandal. For the year 2008 they created a village with mud walls and hay roof. The mandap was full of colourful Midnapore Dolls made from clay and lot of coloured ceiling hangings. They had diya shaped Lights all around to add to the beautiful ambience. The Durga idol was colourful and matching with the theme. They also use the water bodies beside the mandap decorated with diya themed lighting.
