Durga Puja Theme: One of the premiere Puja of Kolkata the Durga Puja organising committee at Suruchi Sangha, New Alipore, continued their tradition of recreating and representing a region of our country. In 2008 they choose Assam, the theme was 'Bihu Ganer Sure Bramhaputra Tire' i.e. theme was based on Bihu festival. They made a temple will translucent ceiling with Maa Durga riding a chariot. There also created a Sivalinga which looked more than real. The whole ambience was amazing.
